One way to stay consistent is through accountability. I send what I read each morning to a group of friends, which keeps me committed and opens opportunities for meaningful conversations about faith.
Here’s how to build this habit:
Set a specific time: Choose a time each day to read, whether it’s morning, lunchtime, or evening.
Use a plan: Follow a Bible reading plan to stay on track.
Find accountability: Share your readings or reflections with someone else for encouragement.
God’s Word is a light to our path—let’s commit to walking in it daily this year.
FAMILY
Family: Be Involved in What Your Kids Are Learning
As parents and grandparents, it’s critical to stay actively engaged in what our children are being taught. Recent developments like the University of Minnesota’s controversial use of transgender dolls in studies targeting young children highlight the importance of parental involvement.
These dolls, designed with mix-and-match genitals and other features, were intended for “gender exploration” and promoted as tools for therapists and educators. While such initiatives claim to foster inclusivity, they also raise serious concerns about the messages being conveyed to impressionable young minds.
Key points:
Parental awareness is crucial: Always know what your children are exposed to in school, media, and extracurricular programs.
Be proactive: Have open, age-appropriate discussions with your children about topics like gender, identity, and values, framed by your family’s beliefs.
Advocate for your kids: Stay involved with school boards, teachers, and community groups to ensure your voice is heard regarding what’s appropriate for children.
